I know this software name sounds strange, but Gimp is a great image editing software. The word GIMP is an acronym for GNU Image Manipulation Program. It works on multiple platforms–PC, Apple, Unix, Linux–and best of all, it’s free and easy to use. The only part of it that seems to pose a problem to Windows users is its installation process. You need to download and install two packages: one software package (called GTK+2) and then the software itself.
